I'm a country boy at heart.
I love everything outdoors.
My grandpa was a pig farmer.
And what brought me to Hawaii Island was on my dad's side, my grandpa had a farm up there, and we would fly up ever since we were kids, and help my dad work the farm, and that was kind of like our summers all the time, or any random trip spring breaks and stuff like that.
So, I just always fell in love with Hawaii Island since I was a little boy, and I knew that's where I wanted to be.
(Singing Island Life) (instrumental music) City lights are shining Beautiful sight you might say But that don’t compare to a starry sky at night But miles of pasture in moonlight A natural beauty that I find Shines from the mountains to the ocean side That’s why I know I couldn’t leave this life behind Waking to a warm sunrise or the sunset on an evening drive Sea breeze on an open coast that’s what I love the most Feeling of an ancient wind climbing up until we’re home again Rolling hills beautiful skies, Island Life Dip your toes in the sand Wash the salt from your hair Healing waters they will understand Roam the valleys so wide Sing with the birds as they fly Thank the journey for my peace of mind That’s why I know I couldn’t leave this life behind Waking to a warm sunrise or the sunset on an evening drive Sea breeze on an open coast that’s what I love the most Feeling of an ancient wind climbing up until we’re home again Rolling hills beautiful skies, Island Life There’s no place that I would wanna go to see the other side That’s why I know the grass is greener where I reside Take me home so I don’t have to dream for another night Cause when I rise When I rise Waking to a warm sunrise or the sunset on an evening drive Sea breeze on an open coast that’s what I love the most Feeling of an ancient wind climbing up until we’re home again Rolling hills beautiful skies, Island Life Rolling hills beautiful skies, Island Life (instrumental music) I've been singing my entire life.
My dad is a musician.
My siblings are musicians.
In my family, if you don't sing or play, you dance, dance hula.
And if you can't do neither, shame on you.
I love performing.
I, I literally wake up every single day and I'm just like, wow, I get to do this every day.
I get to make music.
People can hear my music.
I get to perform in front of hundreds, thousands of people, and I get to make people feel something.

And I knew I didn't want to sing other people's songs.
I wanted to write my own, and I wanted to kind of tell my story through my perspective of things.
And it just felt right.
Country music felt right.
And I still believe my music is Hawaiian country music because I'm Hawaiian, you know.
And when you hear my songs, you're going to hear that influence in it, that it is still very much Hawaiian.
It's just, it's with country music supporting it.
Yeah.
(Singing Must Be the Rain) (instrumental music) Wide awake middle of night a pounding pain A thousand drops fall and tire direct on my brain Who would’ve thought that missing you this much would sting Maybe if I close my eyes it might go away I hope the storm don't stay It must be the rain dropping at night Making me miss our best times And every single thing you did to make my life change It must have been that fire I felt from your lips The very first time I taste your kiss And every part of my body never felt same It must be the rain It must be the rain Here I go toss and turn on an empty bed Remember it was me and you not just me instead Water flows down from my pillow Wish it could drown this in my head And forget her yet But the storm still rages It must be the rain dropping at night Making me miss our best times And every single thing you did to make my life change It must have been that fire I felt from your lips The very first time I taste your kiss And every part of my body never felt same It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain Sunny days seem to go quite well It must be the rain dropping at night Making me miss our best times And every single thing you did to make my life change It must have been that fire I felt from your lips That very first time I taste your kiss And every part of my body never felt same It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain It must be the rain I hope my music can make people feel good.
Makes you want to dance.
I hope my music and the lyrics in my songs, makes you think about things, makes you understand that there's something bigger than yourself, makes you understand, makes you have empathy towards others, makes you feel like, this is my song.
Oh, this song was written for me.
I want people to always think that, oh, this is my jam.
Like, this is the jam.
I'm going to go out, I'm going to play this song.

I want people to know that you know who the paniolos are, who the cowboys are here from Hawaii, and who we are, and the type of music that we're about.
I want to share those stories.
I want people to to hear them, because I think they're special and they need to be heard.

I think we all do that.
I think music is a timestamp.
You know, there's, there's songs that bring you back to a time, time and place, and, um, songs like Better Man.
It makes me reflect, look back and look where I am now, and look what, what I try to represent for me, my family, Hawaii, and only looking up.
Our wedding video is that.
Is always choosing to be better, always choosing love throughout the hardest time in your life and overcoming adversity.
(Singing Better Man) (instrumental music) Oh, Oh my my Oh, Oh my my They said, we too young to even know Two caterpillars on a wage low But I don’t care either way A life with you was a sure thing I’ll tell your daddy right to his eyes Your little girl I’m a make her mine I’ll only ask once and never twice Maybe you can give me some advice Cause I know that I don’t know everything But I know those hard times will make a better man of me Several more years some highs and lows We worked so hard that they’ll never know Giving up ain’t possible When you got her waiting for you at home Time flies by with a little fun What’s coming out next out of that oven I see that face and that’s enough I’ll take it all even when it’s tough Cause sometimes life’s more pleasant in a dream But I know those hard times will make a better man of me Oh, Oh my my Oh, Oh my my Just you and me in love I can live in ease Take us back to the beginning Would you do it all with me Every night I’m sleeping with a smile Two tucked up babies from a long mile And I thank God every day for the best life he has given me Lord knows it took quite a long time But me and you we stood by each other’s side I said don’t worry it’ll be ok A life with you was sure thing Cause I know that we’ve got everything we need But I know those hard times will make a better man of me Oh yeah Oh and those hard times will make a better man of me Oh, oh my my Will make a better man of me Oh, Oh my my my my my my my Oh, Oh my my Will make a better man of me Oh, Oh my my You made a better man of me My wife, she not only performs with me, but she's like my backbone on everything I do.
