of us who used to go to the university for Hilo we would come down and we would uh help him clean his Loi and we'd Camp over in the valley and it was quite a beautiful experience and so I wrote this little song just talking about him and the the beauty of wo this is called the tarot patch twist going down Rocky Road take at the yeah hous down old mango trees there's a little old shack made Metal you twist twist twist just be ready for fun you don't know what you miss till you done the tarot patch twist so just be ready for fun you don't know what you miss you going to do a song that leor wrote this is called you don't remember and she wrote it years ago we were getting ready for a Mother's Day show so this is for the mommies and the daddies out there celebrating that that gift of Life the interesting thing about it is that when she wrote the song she hadn't had her three kids yet and when she wrote it I asked her how did you come up with a song not even being a mom yet and she said well see was her birthday a few months before that she said her mom was living on the mainland missing her very much and her mom sent her a birthday card with a baby all swaddled up on the front and it said you don't remember and when she opened it up it said but I'll never forget happy birthday this is an original you don't remember remember but I'll never foret that blessed day when we and I saw the face I always knew the little smile the little you and you don't remember but I'll never one day in life I will regret to feel such love I never knew I bundled up right there in you as a h you near my heart I understood at last that part of me I never met you don't remember but'll never forget you don't remember but I'll never foret that blessed day when we first met and when I heard your voice I realiz the truth everything in my life me here to you and you don't remember but I'll never foret one day in my life I will never regret a gift so precious given me my angel truly a mle from God as I held you near my heart IOD it last that part of me I never met you don't remember but I'll never foret and when I look into your eyes when I look into your eyes I see the reason why live my life as I H you near my heart I understood at last that part of me I never you don't remember but I'll never forget no you don't remember but I'll never forget no no you don't remember but I'll never forget we're going to take you to my hometown which is on the opposite side so I'm pointing this way but I really should be pointing this way on the North Shore of Oahu um I wrote this song driving home one day and that's when I had a real job I didn't get to play music for a living and I remember being super stressed out and I'm driving home and there's a place on the NorthShore where you come down the road and just you hit this hill and you can see the whole ocean opening up in front of you and I felt like the the stress just left my body and I felt relaxed and I said oh I have to pull over and write a song about this and so um interesting pie piece to this is I say um take me down to the NorthShore which Probably sounds weird to somebody who's not from Hawaii because we think of things from the mountains to the ocean and not so much north south east west so if you get a chance go visit my beaches and uh the Sands and the the place of the NorthShore give it a little smooch for me because I haven't been in a while okay here we go Northshore seren come along take a ride to the ow not side through the winding I'm tree But be sure to take care no one follows you there as you're drifting along on the bridge for if anyone knew where I'm taking you to they truly never depart the magical Co that I love the most deest and dearest my heart my only take me down to the NorthShore the NorthShore where white sand roll in the pounding yeah why don't we go way on out to the NorthShore theore where the SK is blue when the isest Earth turn the sett for the follow the sinking Sun from the top of the hill the Surs breaking still my nerves gently start to unwind every mile that I drive brings me closer to where I always known I should be it's not a big city but the sugar can's pretty my beautiful home by the Sea my take me down to the NorthShore theore where the white sand rose in the mountain yeah why don't we go way on out to the North Shore is the isore o nor sure I've noticed that uh a lot of the songs that we write on our own are often about places that we love you know I think that's a very Hawaiian thing to do and even though we're writing in English um it's often about Northshore forani for me you know this next song we're going to do is a song I actually wrote when I was driving around the island of H I was coming from W down the H coast watching all the waterfalls looking at the clear sky I decided to write this song it's called when I think of you I see water crystal skies and millions of stars when I think of you I hear L soft guitars and Whispers in the night when I think of you no one is ever got in my soul no one is ever made me feel this home there so many things I I didn't know when I think of you I feel Gentle Wind embracing me and War some when I think of you I am flying high spinning and floating on a breeze when I think of you and no one is ever got in my soul no one has ever made me feel this there's so many things I I didn't know when I think of you Mr BAS noever got in my soul no one is ever made feel this there so many things I didn't know when I think of you when I think of you think of you when I think of you just thinking about you baby when I think of yeah all the time when I think of you o when I think of you when I think of me of you okay well this beautiful song was written by Kanani kahon so she is a very well she's very ol Olu for one thing but she is just a phenomenal hakuma songwriter here in Hai uh teacher she's everything she's she's she's everything but she uh gifted us with this song that we recorded on our aulo album and it's called aul and so the story behind this was um she Well Angie can tell you like the true true version but in the poetic version Kanani speaks of this hinano flower that is uh giving off these uh what is that called not pollen but phermones yes it's way up high you know on the tree and it's giving off of this you know this magic fairy dust and it's making the person below just fall in love and um that's kind of just the gist of it really sure yeah yeah no no you're right yeah okay so so the English translation is there was this girl and she saw this very handsome tall dark chocolate man going up an escalator at Aloha Tower and she said if I had his phone number I'd be calling him and go brother turn around I'm right here I'm waiting right that's suggest of it okay here we go might e know for he my know for know this next song we'd like to share with you is one that leua wrote if my memory serves me correctly we were actually at uh nalani's home on the NorthShore and we're just hanging out and we're you know playing music having poo poos and spirits and just enjoying each other's company and we were contemplating are we going to do this again right and Leo goes well you know kind of have a song I wrote and she started playing it and and nen and I just we jumped in with our parts we knew where we were going it was one of those songs in our in our relationship in this partnership that we knew exactly where we needed to go musically what we needed to say and um just how we felt about it and of course when we finished we all looked at each other and said okay uh will hanaho and do this again and these are one of those songs that have truly moved moved us into a different a different Journey a different path within our career as nalana you know a little bit before we do the song our teacher at K schools actually gave us the the name Nana before it was just Nani Angela Le you know and um it was because of the coral upbringing that we received from kamam schools that he created that name gave us that name and nowo is The Voice voices you and P meana is this this um connection this intertwining relationship a lot of um husband and wives have that but for the three of us to to create such a sound based on what our teacher shared with us um that's why we became nalana the voices blending together in warmth so knowing that this song was one of those magical moments for us and where it has taken us um all these years uh we want to share that song with all of you it is definitely a song that people it tugs at their heartstrings for many different reasons and we just appreciate that we're able to share those moments in other people's lives with flying with angels where are you going inside your mind well I guess we're always living on tomorrow time yes I will be to Hold Your Hand just close your eyes and sleep I understand that you'll Fly With Angels Above Us all I'll be to catch you if you fall Furs leave you you know I stay and my dreams will whisper to you and guide your way so sleep my da one kiss good night one kiss good night another song awaits you with a rising light he'll Fly With Angels Above Us all I'll be here to catch you with you fall you with angel above us all I'll be here to catch you if you fall oh I'll be here to catch you if you fall it was many many years ago that we were on the stage of the Whitey key shell not far from here trembling in our sandals I was going to say boots but we weren't wearing boots because we had entered brown bags to stardom which was a Statewide contest it was all over TV all over the state all our friends were watching there were about 10,000 people in the audience and I had written this song and we were scared to death uh but it it ended up becoming kind of a mantra a mantra for local boys to say Hey you may not look like the guy on the Tiger Beat magazine wasn't that what it was back then right the Sean Cassidy and 17 yeah Teen Beat you may not be that guy in that magazine but we think you're pretty cool so we dedicate this one to all the local voice eyes BL don't Mez I'm in love with the local boys don't try to convince me because the local boys are it doesn't matter what island in the mountains or near the sea if I want someone special local boys are the one for me and you may say I'm crazy but I'm right local boys will keep you warm throughout the coldest nights whereever you go in the islands you see the M on the street but my eyes never Wonder because the local Bo oh oh local bo loal bo you may say I'm crazy but I'm right local boys will keep you w throughout the coldest nights oh oh local boys Lo boys you may say I'm crazy but I'm right local boys will keep you warm throughout the coldest night this was the big dramatic ending we really wanted to win the contest you know we had to bring it on home love with the local toce me because the local boys are no I said I love those yeah for all the local boys we have a friend with us uh this evening that we asked to come and um do this song with us like to invite her up on the stage the song is called I miss you my Havi and uh Mr Kenneth makuakane wrote this song and it's one that we've had the pleasure of being able to sing all over the world for people who love Havi as much as we do and there are millions and millions of people around the world who love Havi the Beautiful kumuk I the wind down Tes makes I you my I breath the of a yellow ging I look inside words every time I stop to watch the moon dance across the early evening sky and every time I hear aun I can see the shes of wild nights to go back home and ites want cuz I miss you my love I catch a glmer of your face across the I watch the Setting Sun and I to cry because I miss you my I rest my ofing I close my eyes and I hear you calling me how I miss you my every time I stop to watch the dance across the early evening sky and every time I hear a country I can see the shes wi night every time I to my heart telling me it longs to go back home and it makes me want to cuz I'm miss you every time I stop to watch the moon dance across the early evening sky and every time I hear a country tune I can see the shores of wild night every time I list to my heart telling me it longs to go back home and it makes me want to cuz I miss you my love May forover
